Prosperous and Successful

Description

Those who prioritize learning about God are “prosperous” and “successful” according to His promise.

"This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.” Joshua 1:8

The Hebrew words for “prosper” and “success” contain the idea of being wise and insightful. Prosperous and successful people tap into all learning resources possible. Occasionally, someone will ask me if I’ve read all the books on my personal library shelves. I have to confess I haven’t. I possess the books, but I don’t really possess them because I haven’t accessed all their knowledge. This is the way some pursue Christian living—they possess it, but don’t possess it, because they don’t prioritize learning about God and His ways through Christ. But those who do are “prosperous” and “successful” according to God’s promise.
