Preparing to Be a Witness

Christian, sometimes you will have an opportunity to share your faith, but you may have only thirty seconds to do so. Be prepared!

"Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." - 1 Peter 3:15 NIV

Christian, sometimes you will have an opportunity to share your faith, but you may have only thirty seconds to do so. Be prepared to make good use of these moments so that you can open the door to future conversations. Prepare a brief story (about a hundred words) of your Christian experience, made up of three parts:

1.  Your life before you met Christ,

2.  How you met Christ, and

3.  The difference Christ has made in your life.

Let me share my story. I grew up in a Christian home. Into my teenage years, I would have told you I was a Christian. Then I went to a Christian camp where the focus was on God’s love and all that Christ had done for me on the cross. I became convicted that I had been using God to call on before a big test, an important ball game, or a special date—otherwise I kept Him at arm’s length. In realizing God’s love on a deeper, personal level, I committed my heart and life to follow Christ wherever He wanted me to go. And ever since, I’ve had purpose and meaning to my life. I have been sure of salvation and eternal life. What is your story in one hundred words?
