Praying for Your Spouse: Character

Description

Ask God today to help you focus on growing closer to your spouse by appreciating those character traits that may be different from your own.

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another”—(Proverbs 27:1, NIV).

It’s quite possible that the person you married on your wedding day is not the same person you find yourself married to now. Though you may find yourself as part of a couple, both spouses are still engaged in their own personal life journey. That means that over time, our interests, thoughts and feelings may change. Consequently, this can cause a marriage partnership to grow stronger… or cause it to unravel.

Ask God today to help you focus on growing closer to your spouse by appreciating those character traits that may be different from your own.  Ask for His guidance in determining what you can learn from the differences between you and your spouse, and seek God’s wisdom in discerning how He might be using those differences to shape your own character.
