Pray for Peace
Description
Conflict broke out in South Sudan’s capital, Juba, two days before the nation’s fifth anniversary of independence on July 9, 2016, displacing another 36,000 people. The volatile situation threatens to further disrupt aid deliveries throughout the country where 4.8 million people are experiencing food shortages.
World Vision works in South Sudan supporting food security, livelihoods, water and sanitation, health, and peace building.
“Please keep our staff and the children of South Sudan in your prayers,” says Perry Mansfield, World Vision’s national director in South Sudan.
Perry asks for prayer for:
- The children of South Sudan — for their immediate safety and protection and that their futures will not be sacrificed to renewed fighting.
- Leaders and people of influence in South Sudan and internationally — that they will work together to restore peace.
- World Vision and other humanitarian organizations' staff members — that they will remain safe and have a clear vision of how best to respond to the disturbing and fluid situation in South Sudan.
