Praise Is an Act of Worship

00:00

Description

As we genuinely offer gratitude, thanksgiving, and praise to God, it qualifies as a spiritual sacrifice.

We have been studying what is worship this month. We have seen that every believer is a priest which means we have an access to God in heaven, we can do particular spiritual sacrifices that please him, and we are the designated people of God to do those sacrifices. Our third spiritual sacrifice is praise.

15 Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name. (Hebrews 13:15)

So as we genuinely offer gratitude, thanksgiving, and praise to God, it qualifies as a spiritual sacrifice. Meaning it is something that God has designated as meaningful to him and part of our ministry to him. When we use a spiritual sacrifice on behalf of someone, we are helping others but because it's a spiritual sacrifice we are indeed ministering to God the Father himself. That should be very exciting to us. We are ministering to God and Christ as well as others. How special that God tells us what specifically pleases him.
