Praise Him Today

Description

Don’t wait until you feel like praising God. Follow the example of the prophet Jeremiah and so many others, and just start praising Him today!

Because of the LORD’S great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. LAMENTATIONS 3:22 – 23

When was the last time you chose to praise God, even when you didn’t feel like it? Was it when you got the news you’d lost your job or when your child was sick or you’d been diagnosed with cancer?

The prophet Jeremiah knew about making choices, and he knew the secret of victory. He had learned to praise God even though he’d preached faithfully for sixty-five years without ever having a positive response to his message. He’d been ridiculed and imprisoned. Did Jeremiah feel like praising God? I doubt it! And yet in the book of Lamentations he did just that, praising God for His compassions that are “new every morning” and His great faithfulness.

In Hebrews 13:15, we are reminded, “Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise” (italics mine).

Don’t wait until you feel like praising God. Follow the example of the prophet Jeremiah and so many others, and just start praising Him today!
