Power Over Satan
“Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12)
We are told that Satan is a defeated foe. He was defeated from the beginning of eternity; he just didn’t realize it. Satan thought he had won when Christ was crucified, but when Christ arose from the grave, Satan realized what a mistake he had made.
The only threat Satan has over God’s creation is the threat of death. Once the threat of death was removed by the resurrection of Jesus, Satan’s hold over us was lost.
Those who have accepted Jesus as Lord know that death has no meaning because we pass from life in this world to an eternity with God.
Satan may try to influence our minds, but God’s Word says for us to “Take up the full armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm” (Ephesians 6:13).
