Pleasure in Purpose

Description

What are you made for? When have you been doing something and thought, “I was made for this!”?

One of my favorite movie quotes of all time comes from the 1981 film, “Chariots of Fire."

The film tells the story of the 1924 Olympic competition for British track and field athlete, Eric Liddell. In the film, Eric says “When I run, I feel God’s pleasure.”

What a simple and succinct way to explain how we discover God’s purpose for our lives!

What are you made for? When have you been doing something and thought, “I was made for this!”? That thing, that gift, that responsibility, that call is meant to be used by you to bring glory to God. And that is the purpose of every believer.

God’s purpose is for us to experience His pleasure, and God’s pleasure is our purpose.
