Pleasing God

You can please God by having faith in Him and by believing He is who He says He is.

Hebrews 11: 6

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

So many times, I wonder how I can please God. The answer is simple: I can please God by having faith in God and believing He is who He says He is. If I have faith, then I believe 100 percent in God’s word and His promises. I will take His wisdom to heart and trust in Him.

As a mom, I can understand this concept because I want my children to have faith in me as their mom. I want my children to believe with all their heart that I love them, want the best for them, and would go to the end of the earth for them. But depending on the circumstances in my child’s life concerning me, they may not feel that I want the best for them. A child could interpret my protection as a negative factor in their lives and therefore believe that I am harming them and not helping them.

The idea is the same with God. Am I going to put my faith in my circumstances and believe that when things are good, God is good? Or am I going to put my faith in God and believe that regardless of my circumstances, God is good, and He will work all things together for good? Circumstances will change, but God and His love for me will never change.

Father, Grow my faith in you to where I don’t change depending on my circumstances, but I remain true in my faith in you. I want to please you Father. I want to seek you with all my heart and trust in you for all my needs. Thank you for your patience with me and for your unending love for me.
