Pleasing God

Description

When we serve God first, we will serve others well.

Whom do you seek to please, love and fear? When the people of Israel chose their first king, Samuel charged them to keep their eyes on pleasing God, not their new king. It is easy to get our eyes off of God and onto those around us, losing focus on who we are truly serving. When we serve God first, we will serve others well, those to whom we are accountable and those for whom we are responsible.

But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you. 1 Samuel 12:24

Prayer: Lord, help me to see You more clearly than those around me so that I serve You above all others. You have done great things for me, and You deserve the best I can give. I want to fear You above all others, and serve You faithfully with all my heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
