Placing God at the Top of Your Commitments
Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching (Hebrews 10:24-25).
God wants the best for all of us. He wants us to all experience the power and potential that come from a life that has purpose. But so often, we fall short of that potential, because we have our priorities out of whack. We focus on the wrong thing; too often, we focus on ourselves. But we were never meant to be the focus of our lives. God is meant to have that role.
As you look ahead at what is important to you this year, make sure you are doing what you can to focus first on God. Because when God is first, everything else falls into place. It is by placing our emphasis on God that we discover the opportunities He has for us to make a lasting difference in the world, and in our own lives.
Praise God for who He is. Let Him know that you place an emphasis on His position at the front of the line in your life. And ask Him to help you keep Him there as you open your life up to be used by Him.
Part of placing God at the top of the priority list in your life is making involvement in His House a priority as well. Make involvement in your local church a priority for you.
