Walk through that open door. Hold on to what you have: you have Me, and you have the Word of God.
Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God—REVELATION 3:12.
The church at Philadelphia was one of the seven churches Jesus addressed in Revelation: “I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut” (Revelation 3:8). He had set before them an open door for service, and they had walked through it.
As I visited there, I thought of my own life, when I feel inadequate to walk through the doors of opportunity God places before me. How many times over the years I’ve argued with the Lord.
Not enough time.
Not enough energy.
Not enough education.
And then He’d whisper to my heart, “Anne, walk through that open door. Hold on to what you have: you have Me, and you have the Word of God.”
Jesus told the church at Philadelphia He would make them “a pillar in the temple of God.” During a trip to the Holy Land I observed all that was left of the church at Philadelphia and couldn’t help but notice—the pillars were still standing!
