Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.
We are not to look at ourselves as wise, instead we should look to God and KNOW He is wise. As humans, pride easily sets in and we can allow ourselves to believe that we are more superior than we are. This way of thinking can be a trap which will lead to heartache. Focus your mind on God and His wisdom. When you ask for wisdom from God, (James 1:5) He will give it to you, but always acknowledge that your wisdom comes from God.
As you go about your journey as a mom, try to steer clear from the thought that you “have it all together." Humble yourself before your Heavenly Father and ask Him how you should parent your child, what your child needs from you, and what is the most effective way of teaching your child. God has all the answers, not you. God created each child and knit them together in your womb (Psalm 139:13). Why not ask the Creator? He is more than willing to show you the way.
Father, Thank You for being wise and for allowing me to come to You each day and ask You for Your wisdom. God, teach me how to be the kind of parent that You want me to be. I want to train up my children in the way they should go, so they will be healthy and loving adults. Teach me--I am willing to learn.
