Perfectly Made

As a mom, teach your children Psalm 139:14. They need to know that God created them in a very special way and that we are all precious to Him.

Psalm 139:14

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful.

We are all created and made exactly the way God wanted us to be, here on this earth.  You may look around and think to yourself, “why didn’t God give me blue eyes, or long blonde hair, or I wish I were taller or shorter.”  But, in God’s wisdom and His perfection, He made you just the way you are and there is a reason behind His creation.

When my children were young they would compare themselves to their siblings, always wanting what the other had.  I had to teach them that they were created the way they were for a reason and God does not make mistakes.  My youngest daughter wore glasses as young as 15 months.  As she grew up, she hated her glasses, because she did not feel pretty in them.  Sometimes people made fun of her.  But, because she wore glasses, I think she started to see the world from a different perspective and she has such a tender heart for those people who are different.  God made her eyes the way they were, but then He gave her a heart for others --that is beautiful.

As a mom, teach your children this verse in Psalms, that God created them in a very special way and we are all precious to Him.  Celebrate your uniqueness and teach your children to embrace their own distinct DNA.

Prayer: Father, Thank You for creating me.  Thank You that You do not make mistakes and even though I don’t always like my hair, legs, body, etc., remind me that You do not make mistakes.  I need to be grateful and celebrate the ME that You created.
