Peek-a-Boo

Description

Tassy Mwiinga, age 9, peers from behind the blanket shielding her family's bathing station at her home in Zambia.

Clean water for drinking, bathing, and cooking and proper sanitation were once not a big concern for Tassy’s grandparents, Nelson and Jerecy, her caregivers.

Thanks to World Vision sponsorship, the family learned about proper sanitation and hygiene and they have new opportunities to improve their lives.

There were times in the past when Tassy would come to Jerecy and say, “’Grandma, I need some food. I am hungry.’ At the time I literally had nothing to give her,” says Jerecy.

Then in 2011, World Vision donated goats to families faced with special hardships. Tassy and her grandparents received 5 goats.

It didn’t take long for the goats to multiply. Now the family that struggled for even food now has enough money to buy soap, clothes, and also pay for Tassy’s education.
