Peaceful Sleep

Give God your burdens in exchange for His peace.

Psalm 4:8

I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

There is nothing better in a mom’s world than a child who sleeps through the night.  We pray for this gift, especially when our children are babies.  But, even as our babies grow into young teenagers, we also pray for peaceful days and nights for our children.  Raising children is not always the most peaceful of times.  There can be many struggles in a mom’s world concerning her children.

We cannot control our children and their actions; a mother cannot make her child do anything.  So, where does a mom find her peace during the tumultuous times? We can always look to the Lord to find peace.  God is with us even during the hardest of days and longest of  nights…and God can bring peace into your life if you allow Him to.  Since you cannot control your child, focus on what you can control…yourself.  Ask God to bring the peace that goes beyond understanding (Philippians 4:7) into your life today. Give God your burdens in exchange for His peace.

Thank You that in YOU I can have peace. Thank You that even when my world is turned upside down, You will give me a peace and allow me to feel safe and secure.  In my own human flesh, I do not know how to acquire such peace… but You do, so I look to You today to fill my life and soul with Your peace.
