Peace Builder

Laura Saenz, 12, is a World Vision sponsored child in Colombia. She takes part in a youth peace builders program that has been nominated three times for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Laura has a responsible role in the World Vision peace builders group. She leads programs for 63 children as they learn to build a culture of peace. She says that her life has been transformed by her experience of the program; she is now more tolerant and peaceful.

"Being a Peace Builder is a big responsibility. When there are differences, dialogue is the only answer. I have learned to value and love people,” she says.

She values the lessons she’s learned in how to interact, share, participate and speak in public.

World Vision sponsorship has made a huge difference in Laura’s life, she says. She is thankful for help with school supplies, shoes, food, recreation, and with the steady support of her sponsor.
