And the God of peace will be with you.
Peace is such a beautiful concept. When describing the life of a mom, “peaceful” is not the first word that comes to mind. It is not peaceful when my two year old is having a temper tantrum, nor is it peaceful when my 16 year old is having a temper tantrum. I do not feel at peace when I hear my children fussing and fighting with each other. There is nothing peaceful about being in the car when no one can agree on which fast food restaurant to go to for dinner. Peace is the furthest thing from my family at times.
But God is a God of peace. That is reassuring and comforting to me as a mom. I can rest in the fact that God is with me at all times, and He will give me peace, even when my world is not peaceful. I need to train myself to rely on and trust in God’s peace and not pay so much attention to my circumstances in life. Circumstances change; sometimes they are good, and sometimes they are bad. God never changes. He is always good, always loving and always peaceful. I need to remember that fact.
Father, You are always with me, and I thank you for that. Because you are with me, your peace is always with me. Remind me daily that “in” you I can have peace regardless of my situation in life. Teach me to rely on you and your peace.
