Cycles of Sin

Life is often lived out in patterns. Some of those are good; others are not.

Like a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his folly (Proverbs 26:11).

  • Patterns: Life is often lived out in patterns. Some of those are good; others are not. One of the most dangerous patterns is the pattern of sin. In this pattern, we find ourselves doing something that pulls us away from God's plan for our life, we realize it, we promise ourselves—and God—that we'll never do it again. But then, we find ourselves falling right back into the same pattern.
  • The Vortex: It's called the cycle of sin and is a frustrating and disastrous way to live.

What areas of sin do you find yourself returning to, even though you know God wants you to stay away from them?

Pray for God to help you see the way out of the sin cycle, out of the vortex when you begin to fall into that pattern.

Write down the areas where you struggle with sin. Then read 1 Corinthians 10:13 and thank God for providing you "a way out"!
