Overlooking the Obvious

God wants His people to rely upon Him and Him only for the solution to our nation's problems.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14 NIV).

It is interesting that there are times when it is so easy to miss the obvious, like those photos that are supposed to reveal an image within the picture.  Some of us look for hours and cannot find the image. Many Christians see the solution to our nation’s problems as being political. Others see the solution involving social activism. The solution is right before us, but we miss it. God made it plain in 2 Chronicles 7:14. This sounds very simple and it is. But 'simple' does not mean easy. It is hard to recognize the reality that we may be part of the problem as well as part of the solution. God loves His people, but His heart broken when His people do not see that He is the answer to the problems of the country and world. The first step of humility is crucial. We, individually and collectively, need to realize we have edged God out of our lives and therefore the solution to our country’s problems. God wants His people to rely upon Him and Him only for the solution. We must start by recognizing the problem and then rid things from our lives that keep us from intimately walking with the Father and watch Him use us to bring about change. Are you seeing it now?
