Obedience is Doing Things His Way
“In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead” James 2:17.
Today’s society is all about quick fixes and instant gratification. However, the pursuit for these things never ends in satisfaction. Fortunately, there is a formula we can use to get true fulfillment in life.
Yesterday we saw that the first and most important component of this formula is Jesus. This leads to the next piece of the formula: Obedience.
Obedience is doing things God’s way, all the way. The practical way of doing this is by SEEKING Jesus both corporately in the church and privately on your own. It’s done by SHARING what you learn and inviting others to church. Another aspect of obedience is SERVING in The House. Finally, SOWING what He’s given you by bringing a portion to Him. Being consistent in these areas will not only lead you down the path to fulfillment; it will take your life to a ‘hole nutha level!
Ask God to help you become disciplined in these practical ways of being obedient to Him as you build your relationship with Him.
You may need to become more disciplined in these areas. Choose one of these practical disciplines to begin today. Start by reading your Bible each day or find a place to serve in The House.
