A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.
After our children are born, especially after children number 2 and 3 are born, it seems as if life starts going at an uncontrollable speed. A mom’s life is filled with so many duties and responsibilities, that we can sometimes forget the first person in our family— our husband. Have you ever felt that way? Have you ever thought to yourself, “he can take care of himself?” He can take care of himself— that is true— but be wise and don’t forget about your husband.
Your husband needs you. He needs you to take care of him, to nurture him, to love him and build him up. It is hard, especially with all the demands your children put on you. But keep in mind that your husband will hopefully be around a lot longer than your children. Your children will grow up and leave the house, but your husband will stay. So, you better not forget about him —continue to build that relationship.
How do you build confidence in your marriage? Keep communication open and free. Even if you are so tired from the days’ activities, don’t forget to ask your husband about his day and tell him of yours. Share your dreams with your husband and listen to his dreams. Fight fiercely for your marriage…if you don’t fight for it, someone else might. Build your husband up with your words —be his biggest cheerleader. Men need the respect of the woman they love. You are his love! Remember that. If you are struggling in this area of your life, share with God your concerns. Ask God to fill your heart with a renewed love for your husband.
Father, Thank You for my husband. I admit I have allowed him to slip from #1 to about #4 in my life…and for that, I am sorry. God, give me the courage to confess that to my husband and give me ideas to re-kindle our love. The children seem to consume me, but I know my husband needs to come first. Give me energy when I have none and make my efforts count.
