New Life
Description
As the child’s mother looks on, World Vision midwife Penina holds a baby she helped deliver at Yambio Primary Health Care Centre in Yambio, South Sudan.
The new maternity ward at the clinic is helping to reduce maternal and child mortality. In villages, mothers are at risk when they deliver at home due to lack of proper care.
World Vision also prepares home health promoters to work within their communities to counsel mothers and give them information that they need to seek health care services for themselves and their newborns.
