Never Too Late

Description

How can you minister to others in your particular stage of life?

If our purpose is to fill the whole earth with God’s glory (Numbers 14:21; Psalm 72:19; Isaiah 43:7), and we do this by bearing fruit (John 15:8)–what does that actually look like in our lives?

Depending on your season of life, fruit bearing will be expressed through different venues:

For example, the student who demonstrates perseverance and moral excellence will stand out as a testimony to others that she has something worth living for which compels her to a higher standard than selfish, short-term, personal gratification.

The single woman has multiple avenues to demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit as she serves others around her–whether in the 9 to 5 workplace environment, in her church, or on the mission field of a foreign country.

The young mom’s day is burgeoning with opportunity to demonstrate godly character while also taking advantage of “teachable moments.” Her mission field sleeps under her roof. As her children grow, her field expands to include the many friends and family members who cross her doorstep through the years.

And, the season of life I’m now entering–the “open-home” years . . . Adult children require less hands-on involvement, which allows the woman in this season more time for expanded ministry. Not only is time in greater abundance, but the older woman has a river of life she’s navigated. This is the season for ministry as outlined by Paul in Titus 2:3-5.

I challenge you to consider your season of life as the mission field in which God has placed you today. How are you bearing fruit there? Is He evident to those you encounter? Are you bearing fruit that gives evidence to the gospel?

It is not too late to begin bearing fruit for the harvest.
