Never Ending Love
And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
Some days are better than others. Some days the love pours out like a faucet onto our family and other days you look at the clock and it’s flashing 9:00 a.m. and you think, “I will never make it through this day with this child.” On days like that, you love your child, but you may not “like” them too much. Don’t be discouraged. Jesus gave us a gift when He gave us the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is full of love, full of grace and patience and in Him, we have all the love we need.
God loves us so much that He sent His son, Jesus, to pay for our sins, so we could have a relationship with God. But, when Jesus ascended into heaven, God’s love for us did not stop, He sent us the Holy Spirit. Through the Holy Spirit, we have all the love we will ever need. Through the Holy Spirit, we have God’s love in us. So, on those days when you feel that you will not be able to love your child unconditionally- lean into the Holy Spirit and ask Him to fill you with His love. Be honest! Tell God, “I’m ready to throw in the towel for this rebellious child of mine, but I know I need to love them, train them and rise above. God I cannot do that without You, without Your Holy Spirit loving my child through me.” God will meet you where you are and He will answer your cry to Him.
Thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit. I admit I don’t always understand how the Trinity works, but I know it works! God, I know You gave the Holy Spirit to Your children to comfort us, to guide us, to fill us with what we need and when we need it. Thank You for this amazing gift!
