Psalm 100:3-5 (NIV®)
Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
This passage is a simple but wonderful reminder of the nature of God and why He deserves our love, our loyalty, and our praise. It says that God not only created us, He knows us by name―we are not just random combinations of DNA. It says the access code for the gates of God is thankfulness―and we should be thankful, because His love and goodness will endure forever. He always has been and always will be faithful―it is His very nature, and He can be no other way. On days when you are doubting God’s love for you or His purposes for Your life, read Psalm 100. Take comfort in knowing that you are a much-loved child of the God of the universe.
Heavenly Father, thank You that You are my God. Thank You that I am unique among all Your created beings, with purposes You designed just for me. I praise You for all the ways You have blessed me and used me. Thank You for Your faithfulness to me. Lord, use me to extend Your Kingdom in the earth. In Jesus’ name, amen.
