Moving from a Superficial to an Authentic Faith

Description

How else will we know that our faith is real; that it can withstand trials… except to walk through God's refining fire?

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances. - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Rejoice always? Seriously. There are some days when I just don't feel like rejoicing. There are some situations- when it's time to pray… That nothing in me wants to give thanks. Have you ever been there? Weary with every single thing that has gone wrong.

The Scripture teaches us, that God is using everything to mold us more into his image. Our good days, bad days, when everything seems to be going our way, and even when we walk to the valley of the shadow of death.

How else will we know that our faith is real; that it can withstand trials… except to walk through God's refining fire?

Prayer: Lord- thank you that you know exactly what you're trying to accomplish in each of us. Thank you that you know exactly what you'll need to use to get each of us to that place. Give us the strength and wisdom to welcome the bad as well as the good. Knowing that you accomplish great things through obedience.  Amen
