"Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, 'See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.'" Hebrews 8:5, NKJV
Have you been to the mountain lately? That is, have you spent time alone with the Lord "on the mountain" to hear His voice and to get His plan?
Moses did. The Lord invited Moses to the mountain. As it turned out, Moses spent forty days and nights on Mount Sinai. It was there that the Lord spoke to Moses about his calling, his assignment, his mission and his destiny. His instructions were very clear and in great detail. (Read all of Exodus 24 & 25 for details.)
"And the Lord said to Moses, 'Come up to Me on the mountain. Stay there while I give you the tablets of stone that I have inscribed with My instructions and commands. Then you will teach the people from them.' So Moses and his assistant Joshua climbed up the mountain of God. Moses told the other leaders, 'Stay here and wait for us until we come back. If there are any problems while I am gone, consult with Aaron and Hur, who are here with you.'"
"Then Moses went up the mountain, and the cloud covered it. And the glorious presence of the Lord rested upon Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it for six days. On the seventh day the Lord called to Moses from the cloud. The Israelites at the foot of the mountain saw an awesome sight. The awesome glory of the Lord on the mountaintop looked like a devouring fire. Then Moses disappeared into the cloud as he climbed higher up the mountain. He stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights. " (Exodus 24:12-18, NLT)
In our busy, "go-go-go" culture, it's safe to say that we all need to carve out "mountain time." On the mountain, the Lord shows us His plan—His design, His pattern—for specific areas of our lives.
Do you need more details on God's plan for your life? For your next steps? For problem-solving something in your life? For your relationships? For your marriage? For your family? For your business? For your future? God isn't withholding the information we need; He just needs us to spend some "mountain time" with Him so that He can reveal His plans to us.
Today—or sometime this weekend—why not put a sign on your door, "Gone to the Mountain…" and get with God!
Say It: “Father, I want to spend some 'mountain time' with You. I desire and I require Your presence and Your plans. Thank You for helping me carve out 'mountain time' and thank You for speaking to me and revealing Your plans. In Jesus' Name. Amen."
