Motivated by God the Father's Grace

00:00

Description

As we experience the benefits of a relationship with the Father and the Son, those benefits should flow out to others. The emphasis is not on what we do, but what God has done for us.

Christianity is a profound faith. It is not only concerned about the activity of the body, it is also concerned about the depths of the heart. To produce the lifestyle that the Father God is looking for it should be based on what He has given to us.

"Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and a beneficial hope by grace, comfort and strengthen your hearts in every beneficial work and word" (2 Th. 2:16-17).

Notice how the eternal comfort of verse 16 becomes the comfort our hearts need to produce Christian works. Note how the beneficial hope by grace becomes reproduced in "every beneficial work and word." What is wonderful is that this comfort is eternal; it is always there for us.

So this means we should live life out of the overflow. As we experience the benefits of a relationship with the Father and the Son, those benefits should flow out to others. The emphasis is not on what we do, but what God has done for us. Before we do, we should see what has been done for us.
