Description

We all struggle with the same issues in life. Our tendency to point out the problems in someone else's life is usually just an attempt to cover up the problems in our own.

“Don’t pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults— unless, of course, you want the same treatment. That critical spirit has a way of boomeranging. It’s easy to see a smudge on your neighbor’s face and be oblivious to the ugly sneer on your own." Matthew 7:1-5

THINK

In our world, celebrities are seen and heard more than ever before. And when we look at them, we often think, "I would never..." Or "Can you believe they...?" But the reality is that no matter who we are, where we're from or what we have, celebrities are often just a reflection of the very things we think, say and do. They just tend to have a grander stage on which they are viewed.

We all struggle with the same issues in life. Our tendency to point out the problems in someone else's life is usually just an attempt to cover up the problems in our own. But to truly experience all that God has for us, we need to get to a point that we are truthful about our own condition, and less critical of what we see (or think we see) in others.

Do you focus more on your own need for God? Or are you constantly concerned with the 'issues' in someone else?

PRAY

Thank God for creating you to be uniquely you. Tell him that you recognize the issues you deal with, and ask Him to forgive you for those times you are critical or judgmental towards others.

ACT

Write a list of 3 celebrities (or people) you have been critical towards in the past. Now, take a few minutes to pray for each of them.
