Master Contentment


Ask God to help you see the bigger picture beyond your current circumstance.

I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:11-13 


Joy is the ability to rise above our circumstances, no matter how bad they may be, and see things from God’s perspective. 

But so often, when we face difficult times, it’s easy to complain. We look around at our circumstances and complain that it isn’t fair or that no one else is dealing with what we are dealing with. But to experience joy in life, we need to rise above that feeling. We need to STOP COMPLAINING and MASTER CONTENTMENT. 

Paul knew what it meant to be content in any and every situation by looking past his temporary situations and understanding that God had a bigger plan. To do that in your own life, begin to trust that God has a plan and purpose that lasts far beyond your situation. 


Ask God to help you see the bigger picture beyond your circumstance. Pray that He gives you the perspective and ability to stop complaining and to master true contentment.


On a piece of paper, write today’s action step: STOP COMPLAINING; MASTER CONTENTMENT. Keep this sheet throughout the week for the next steps towards experiencing true joy in your life!
