Making the Choice

Description
There are days when everything goes wrong, and I feel like I have the right to be in a bad mood all day.
I was recently challenged by my friend Shannon’s decision not to have a bad day. She’d been drowning in laundry, tackling a to-do list a mile long, and her three year old was getting into everything. Shannon was so frustrated.
By lunchtime, she was sick of being in a bad mood. So she decided to cheer up and be thankful for where she is in life. That afternoon she took her older son to get a milkshake, and when they got to the drive-thru window the cashier recognized Shannon from her church.
Then the girl said, "I was thinking you must be a Christian because you’re so joyful." Shannon couldn’t believe someone called her joyful when she’d been in such a bad mood earlier.
She had made a choice and she was so glad she did. Now, if I can just follow her great example.
