Making a Splash

At her home in Kenya, Kamama washes her face in clean water.

With clean water close by, Kamama's family has plenty of water for drinking, cooking, and cleaning. The children bathe every day.

Kamama, age 5 and sponsored, lives in a community served by World Vision’s Mtelo Water Project in West Pokot County, Kenya. The gravity-fed water system supplies clean water to about 800 households as well as schools, churches, and a health center.

In sub-Saharan Africa, 325 million people don’t have access to an improved water source. Many walk an average of 6k daily to collect water from polluted rivers and ponds.
