Draw aside with Jesus. Choose to accept His invitation and make time to be with Him!
One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God. LUKE 6:12
“I don’t have time to read my Bible.” “I don’t have time to pray.” Sound familiar? I’ve said those same words myself. I stay busy, so I have to make time to read God’s Word, to study it, to apply and live by it … and to pray.
Mark 6 tells us about a time when Jesus’ disciples were on an emotional roller coaster, to say the least: bombarded with the brutal beheading of John the Baptist, thrilled by experiencing the power of God to change lives through their ministry, and exhausted and having no time to even eat because of the demands on their time. But Jesus understood. He said, “Come with me by yourselves” (v. 31).
You and I are given that same invitation! The catch? We have to choose to accept His invitation and make the time to be with Him.
Accept His invitation. Set your alarm. Carve out time in your daily schedule. Draw aside with Jesus!
