Make Life Better
Mothers and fathers everywhere, whether they live in a mansion or a mud hut, want to give their children a healthy, happy home life.
Christine has worked hard to create an immaculate home.
“We put in a pit latrine,” says Christine. “We have a bath shelter—a private place to shower. There is a dish rack for plates. We have washing facilities for the children to wash their hands.” These things she learned about from her local community health worker, John Wesonga, trained by World Vision.
But she didn’t stop there. The inside of her home is carefully decorated, and “we planted flowers to beautify the environment,” she says.
Her first child, Centrine, got really bad diarrhea. “I was concerned; I thought she could die,” says Christine. They took her to a health center, but she failed to heal. Then she spent four days in a costly private clinic.
“Now the children no longer get diarrhea because of our sanitation and health,” says Christine. And that’s a great relief.
Please pray for the work of health and development workers who help save millions of lives and reduce the toll of diseases:
Abba Father, You know every child by name, and You care about each one’s past, present, and future. We acknowledge that we can do nothing apart from You. Empower us by Your Spirit to be sensitive to the needs of the most vulnerable children. Guide the nations to continue to care about Your little ones by investing in the gift of health for all children.
“Then one of the synagogue rulers, named Jairus, came there. Seeing Jesus, he fell at his feet and pleaded earnestly with him. ‘My little daughter is dying. Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live.’ So Jesus went with him.” -Mark 5:22-24 (NIV)
