Love Others Into the Kingdom of God
For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” (Galatians 5:13-14).
There was an old man who used to take a one-hour bus ride every Sunday morning to a small church way on the other side of the city. Every week, he’d greet the bus driver, pay his fare, and take his seat.
One Sunday as he boarded the bus, the driver asked him, “Sir, we pass at least 10 churches on the way to yours. Why don’t you attend a church that’s closer to where you live? It would save you time and money.”
The little old man glanced down for a moment, then looked at the bus driver and said, “Because I’m loved over there.”
The church of God should be an oasis of love. It should be a place where we welcome the sinners and the hurting. It should be a place where we open our arms to the hungry and the weary. It should be a lighthouse in the storm of life where people find rest.
Be the church by demonstrating the love of Christ to others. That’s the ultimate call of the Christian life. Love others into the Kingdom of God.
Be a light in the world by loving people into God's Kingdom!
