Look At My Ears

Do you ever feel like you’re just not cut out for this parenting gig?

Do you ever feel like you’re just not cut out for this parenting gig?
The other day I was driving with my 16-year-old son, who doesn’t think I really know what I’m talking about when it comes to driving.  One of the things Andrew does, that drives me crazy, is when he doesn’t slow down soon enough before a stoplight. Once again, he rushed up to a stoplight and slammed on his breaks. And I knew it was my moment of opportunity.  I knew I needed him to look in my eyes and listen to me, so I said “Andrew look at my ears”!
He busted out laughing and said, “Look at your ears”?
This parenting thing is so hard.  Just when I’m trying to get my son to take my instructions seriously I forget which part of my face to get him to look at.
