Long Walk Home

Description

Dorcas Hamasamu, 9, fetches water from the Bulanda water hole in Zambia.

About 663 million people around the world don’t have access to clean water. Dorcas was one of them. Once a dead dog’s skin and fur floated to the surface of the pond where he village collects water.

They had no choice but to drink that water.

Clean water helps free children from deadly, preventable disease. It liberates women and children from long hours spent gathering dirty, contaminated water. Clean water restores health and opens the door to education, a promising future, and the kind of life God intends for His children.

Please pray with us.

Loving God, we ask for Your blessings on children, mothers, fathers, and communities who are thirsty. Purify, protect, and multiply their water sources. Strengthen their resolve so they may fully enjoy the benefits of clean water — essentials like education, gardens of fresh produce, and good health.`

“Come, all you who are thirsty. …”  ~ Isaiah 55:1 (NIV)

Find out now how to join the Global 6K for Water. You can walk, jog, or run from anywhere in the world to bring clean water to girls like Dorcas.
