Long-Term Investments

Description

It’s good to know there is one completely trustworthy place where you can invest that will never give you a diminishing return -- the Kingdom of God!

2 Timothy 1:12 (NIV®)

I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day.

I hope you are putting money aside and investing it toward your future. But even the most carefully tended investments are subject to some things you have no control over—wars, weather, even the wisdom of fund managers. It’s good to know there is one completely trustworthy place where you can invest that will never give you a diminishing return. Nothing you invest in God’s Kingdom can ever be lost or even lose its value. And I don’t primarily mean your money, though God certainly deserves a portion of that. I mean your time, your talent, your thoughts, your dreams, your heart―what you give your life to. Like Paul, let’s give careful thought to how we plan for our future—our spiritual future—and invest in the things of God.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, Your Kingdom is the very definition of security—strong, safe, and unshakeable. Holy Spirit, show me how to invest my time, my talent, my thoughts and dreams in ways that serve Kingdom purposes. Show me how to live today with eternity in mind. In the name of Jesus, amen.
