Long Day’s Wait

Description

A baby rests on a blanket while families wait for a food distribution in a drought-stricken area of Somalia.

World Vision organizes monthly food distributions throughout the country. At this site, 500 households, about 3,500 people, were targeted in one day. Many walked for hours to get there and waited for hours more to receive food supplies.

Numbers of recipients are growing month to month as many more people come to register for aid.

The drought has also led to severe shortage of pasture and water, making survival harder for both humans and their livestock.
