Living Faith

The author shares a story about her granddaughter that reinforces her favorite quote: "What you believe about God is the most important thing about you."

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine according to His power that is at work in us. Ephesians 3:20

When my three-year-old granddaughter, Priscilla, invited me to see her newly decorated room, I told her it was the most beautiful room I had ever seen. She smiled and said, "God gave it to me.” I said, "Really, can you tell me about that?" She looked at me like I should already know the answer but decided to indulge me. With a deep sigh she began, “Well, God gave me my mommy and daddy; God gave my daddy a job so we could buy a house and mommy can stay home with me; God showed mommy how to paint words on a wall and how to sew so she could make my room pretty. God made my favorite color --pink. God gave it to me!” Her child-like faith spoke to me.

My favorite A. W. Tozer quote says, "What you believe about God is the most important thing about you." Priscilla believed God provided all her needs and gave her the desires of her heart. What do you believe about God today? Do you acknowledge all things come from God? Does your life reflect what you say you believe about God?
