Listening to the Father’s Heart - November 7
That was a tough letter you received this week. I saw your pain. It saddens me when my children cannot see each other like I see them. I never define a son or daughter by their past failures. I always look at my sons and daughters based on their future. I always see the best in my children. Failure is merely a stepping stone in your maturity process; it is never an event to define your identity. If it were, no one would want to continue on their life journey. Do you remember how my son responded to Peter when he saw him after he was resurrected? Peter denied even knowing my son. Yes, that hurt, but it was needful for Peter to see this in himself. We can only see our true selves when placed in the pressure cooker of life's tests. We loved Peter with open arms. That is because my love is always greater than what people do to me. That is how you are to love. And you have done that exceptionally well. I am proud of that trait in you.
Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things are passed away; behold, new things have come. 2 Corinthians 5:17
