Listening to the Father's Heart - August 29

What in your life is hindering my ability to work in you and through you? What needs to go?

Son, when I call someone to an assignment of far-reaching significance, I must first remove hindrances that would prevent the mission from being fulfilled. When my Son told the story of the rich man who was unable to go through the eye of the needle, it was a parable about removing things.  What in your life is hindering my ability to work in and through you? What needs to go? David understood he could not defeat Goliath while wearing Saul's heavy armor. Some things weigh you down for the task I have for you. I often remove things that you have previously placed your trust in. This surgery can be painful, but it is needful. Unlike human beings, I am able to make those choices based solely on the requirements for the job without factoring in the emotional consequences of the loss. That is because I can see the benefit for you and for my kingdom. I always make decisions based on future benefit, not on the avoidance of pain that might be required in the short term. Bear up under loss, my son, and count it as gain for my sake.

But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ.  Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ. Philippians 3:7

And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.   Matthew 19:24
