Listening to the Father's Heart - April 9

Description

Son, never pander to the opinions of man when I have given you clear instructions.

Son, fear of man is one of the greatest hindrances for my leaders. Do you remember my son Saul?  I instructed him through my son Samuel to destroy the Amalakites because of their wickedness. But Saul was more concerned with the approval of the people than with obeying me. This ultimately led to his fall. I had to reject him as my king. I had such wonderful plans for my son Saul. It broke my heart to have to remove my favor from him. Son, remember this: Never pander to the opinions of man when I have given you clear instructions. You are to play to an audience of one—me.

Then Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.”  1 Samuel 15:24
