Listening to the Father's Heart - April 5

Cry out to me. I do hear and I do respond.

Son, do you recall the story of my servant Saul? He was my selection to be the first king of Israel. My people were being oppressed by the Philistines. They needed someone to lead them. I acted because I heard their cry. I respond to the prayers of my sons and daughters, and I often choose a leader to be the catalyst in bringing the answer. Those I choose often think they are unworthy and unqualified for their assignments (1 Sam 9:23). I sometimes have to draft them into their mission through a crisis event. For Saul, it was his father's lost donkeys that caused him to seek me. I find a way to get my children’s attention. So often the entrance to one's destiny begins at the door of a crisis. Instead of seeing situations as a crisis, consider that these events may be the entry door to something new I have planned for you. Always come to me with the problems you face. Cry out to me. I do hear and I do respond.

Tomorrow about this time I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin, and you shall anoint him commander over My people Israel, that he may save My people from the hand of the Philistines; for I have looked upon My people, because their cry has come to Me. 1 Samuel 9:16

But as for your donkeys that were lost three days ago, do not be anxious about them, for they have been found. And on whom is all the desire of Israel? Is it not on you and on all your father’s house?” I Samuel 9:20
