Listen to God
Are your ears wide open this morning? Do you hear the gentle voice of the Lord speaking to your heart?
Learning to listen to God ... that’s also what being an ambassador of heaven means:
“Whenever Moses went into the Tabernacle to speak with the Lord, he heard the voice speaking to him from between the two cherubim above the Ark’s cover—the place of atonement—that rests on the Ark of the Covenant. The Lord spoke to him from there.” (see the Bible, Numbers 7:89, NLT)
God speaks quite often, and He has so many things to say to you. You should stop sometimes in your prayers to simply be silent and ask Him what He’s thinking of that situation or simply of you. Then, write everything that comes to your mind, without stopping to think, and then, when you think you're done, sort through it: Everything that aligns with the Word of God can only come from Him; the rest is probably coming from you. During this time of listening, let the Lord remind you who you are and that He is the King, the Lord, of your life.
We often think that God speaks to others but not to us particularly...Yet, we’re willing to hear Him speak to us. We simply don’t know how to start listening.
“For God speaks again and again, though people do not recognize it.” (the Bible, Job 33:14)
“People do not recognize it” ... What do we do to recognize what God is saying to us?
- By reserving a time in our day to listen: the more we take the time to listen, the more we’ll be familiar with His voice. Even if it may seem strange and uncomfortable at first, and even if it’s only for a few minutes, you’ll realize very quickly just how important these moments are.
- By reading His Word regularly. Everything the Bible says is true. By appropriating these truths, you build for yourself a foundation of solid beliefs.
- By asking Him open questions: “How, why…?” Don’t limit God to a “yes” or a “no” ... let Him reveal all He desires to communicate with you!
Don’t give up. God wants to unveil His wondrous plans for your life! The throne room is open to you ... you can approach the Father, and He will reveal to you everything you need to know. When you listen to His voice, nothing can stop you, and your testimony becomes powerful!
