Lines of Communication

Take time to seek God’s activity in your life. And when you find it, share it with everyone you know.

Read: Matthew 7:7-11

Every Christian has a story. But sometimes our stories seem insignificant, especially compared to those in the Bible. If you’ve never seen a blind person healed or someone raised from the dead, it can be easy to feel like God is more distant now than He was back then. God is acting in our lives. I would argue that we simply aren’t paying attention.

When you look for God’s work in your life, you’ll be amazed at how frequently you begin to see it. A while back, I began writing down my prayer requests. My expectation was that over time I could look back and see how God answered my prayers. While that does happen, I also find Scripture comes alive to me more often. At times, I find the very next verse I read answers the prayer I just wrote down.

This should not be surprising. Matthew 7:8 says, “for everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” As we see God working in our lives, our faith increases and so does our opportunities to build the faith of those around us. Sharing how God has acted in your life might be just the encouragement someone else needs to take their next big step of faith. So take time to seek God’s activity in your life. And when you find it, share it with everyone you know.
