Light of the World

Description

Let the light of Christ, that is in you, shine to everyone you come in contact with today.

Matthew 5:14, 16

You are the light of the world.

If you are a child of God, you have the light of Jesus in you a light that draws people to you like a moth is drawn to a flame. Whether you are a working mom, a stay at home mom or somewhere in between your light needs to be shining for God. How can you, as a mom, be a light to the world? You can shed your light when you are riding the public transportation into work every morning, you can smile to your neighbor and ask them how they are doing when you go get your mail. When you are checking out in the grocery store, you can actually look the cash register person in the eyes and ask them about their day. Shedding light is not hard to do, but you have to begin to think of others and not only yourself.

Let the light of Christ, that is in you, shine to everyone you come in contact with today. From the time your feet hit the ground in the morning until you crawl into bed tonight, remember…you are the light of the world and you need to be shining!

When you go into a dark room what do you do? You turn on a light so you can SEE where you are. The world is a dark place and sometimes YOU are the only version of Christ people will see. Ask yourself, “are people better off after spending time with me or are they the same?” People should be better off after spending time with youthey should be encouraged, blessed and loved. Spread your light- don’t hide it.

Prayer

Father, Through Your Son Jesus, I have light in me. What an amazing gift You have given me. God, even on the days when I don’t “feel” like I am a light, I am. My prayer today is that You would shine through me at all times. I want people to see You when they look at me…not me! I know that is a tall request, but that is what I am praying for today. Shine through me in whatever way You can. Whether it is when I am changing my baby’s diaper, talking with my husband, sitting in traffic, car pooling my children, or making dinner— shine through me.
