Light of Literacy
Shazia, 17, teaches women at an adult literacy center in Sharifwala village of Muzaffargarh, Pakistan.
In Pakistan, 58.7 percent of women and girls over the age of 15 are illiterate. Educating girls was taboo in Shazia’s village until World Vision began an advocacy project to promote education there.
World Vision is working to help girls and women get an education, so they can make a difference in their communities.
