Lifesaving School Lunch

Lunch is the only meal of the day for these children in Somalia, where drought is causing extreme hunger.

Around 700 children are fed here every day during their lunch break, receiving sorghum and beans.

More children have registered for school since the feeding program started. Some children walk far to get to the school, but it’s often their only meal.

World Vision organizes monthly food distributions throughout the country. At this site, 500 households, about 3,500 people, received food in one day.  Many walked for hours to get there.
